DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 Completes Successful Biodiesel Testing at Montana State University-Northern

Researchers at Montana State University-Northern Verify BD-3's Superior Performance with Biodiesel and Present Findings at 99TH American Oil Chemists' Society's (AOCS) Annual Meeting and Expo

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International Fuel Technology, Inc. (IFT) (OTCBB: IFUE - News) announced that Montana State University-Northern’s Bio-Energy Innovation and Testing Center recently completed extensive testing with IFT’s DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 additive. Results demonstrated that DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 significantly improves oxidative stability in all biodiesel fuels tested. The research team included the oxidative stability performance results for DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 in a study focused on biodiesel produced from a new feedstock for biodiesel, camelina sativa oil, which was presented at the 99th AOCS Annual Meeting and Expo in Seattle, Washington on May 19, 2008.

In the test project, the DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 additive was blended with biodiesel fuel samples produced from various feedstocks, including camelina sativa, soybean, and a camelina/coconut blend. None of the untreated biodiesel samples were able to meet the European specification for EN 14112 oxidative stability. Treatment with DiesoLIFTTM BD-3 dramatically improved the oxidative stability of all samples far above the EN 14112 specifications.

“Poor oxidative stability is a significant problem associated with the commercial acceptance of biodiesel,” said Axel Farhi, IFT’s Director of Global Business Development. “The results from Montana State University-Northern show that DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 is the top market performer for improving oxidative stability in biodiesel produced from various feedstocks. DiesoLIFT™ BD-3 is the best solution in the marketplace for producers and blenders of biodiesel who wish to produce and market a higher-quality, better-performing biodiesel that can be stored safely for extended periods of time.”
