International Fuel Technology, Inc. To Work With The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines

ST. LOUIS, August 12, 2009 – International Fuel Technology, Inc. (IFT) (OTCBB: IFUE) today announced that the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (“SVG”) has agreed to work with IFT to explore how use of IFT’s DiesoLIFT™10 can help SVG improve fuel efficiency, decrease emissions and improve the operating performance of equipment in the stationary power generation and road transport industries.

Dr. Sergio C. Trindade, IFT’s Director of Science and Technology, and Peter R. Smith, Managing Director for Climate Change, Energy and the Environment Group at Pataki-Cahill Group (“PCG”), recently met with representatives of the Government of SVG and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Electric Services.  The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate how the successful implementation of IFT additive technology could assist SVG in lowering energy consumption through improved fuel efficiency, protect its environment, mitigate climate change and bolster the eco-tourism industry.

PCG (http://www.patakicahillgroup.com/), a prominent consulting firm whose primary focus is in the area of clean, renewable and alternative fuels, has been assisting IFT in commercializing its DiesoLIFT™line of fuel additive technologies.

“Providing infrastructure services in insular countries pose special challenges. Such is the case of electricity services. It is difficult to build a national electric grid, and consequently generation, transmission and distribution systems are typically confined to individual islands. Power generation is often based on diesel fuel burned in diesel engines or gas turbines,” said Dr. Sergio C. Trindade, IFT’s Director of Science and Technology. “Countries such as St. Vincent and the Grenadines can save precious foreign exchange by the improved fuel efficiency provided by IFT technology.”
